With a ravishing red lip and chic, twisted ponytail, Emma Stone’s beauty game was STRONG last night. Makeup artist Rachel Goodwin and L’Oreal Paris Celebrity Stylist Mara Roszac did the makeup and hair honors, respectively. Here, the beauty breakdown.

MAKEUP

SKINCARE
“To start, I applied CHANEL Hydra Beauty Micro Sérum to Emma’s skin and let it settle in for 20 minutes before adding makeup.

FACE
I used a really sheer foundation, CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra Light Skin Perfecting Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 in 10 Beige, so her complexion would be incredibly fresh and dewy, not too done. I used a little CHANEL Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Broad Spectrum SPF 15 in N°20 under the cheekbones, adding dimension without adding color.

EYES
I emphasized Emma’s brows to make them quite strong. Her eye look was really glossy and bronze, without any hard lines. To start that type of look, you really need a powder or a matte shadow underneath, like CHANEL Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Broad Spectrum SPF 15 in N°10. I used my fingers to apply CHANEL Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Mirage, then added a black liquid eyeliner very lightly onto the outer edges of her eyes.

LIPS
We made Emma’s lips a powerful, graphic statement — her red lip was the only color. I applied Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in HD Gladiolus. The effect wasn’t glossy, but wasn’t matte — it had a creamy, luxe feeling.”

HAIR

Mara was inspired Dior couture dress had a strong, yet glamorous structure, which inspired her modern, twisted ponytail. Here, the products and tips to getting the look, straight from Mara.

STEP 1: Start with a shampoo and conditioner designed to help achieve a straight, sleek look like L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Smooth Intense Ultimate Straight Shampoo and Conditioner ($4.99 each)

STEP 2: To prep the hair, I applied L’Oreal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Blow Dry It Thermal Smoother Cream ($4.99) on damp hair and blew it dry with a round brush.

STEP 3: I touched up with a flatiron, taking random sections to create smooth ends

STEP 4: Before creating the ponytail I sprayed L’Oreal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Boost It High Lift Creation Spray ($4.99) all over the hair to add a bit of volume texture and hold. It’s the perfect product to use as a base before styling into an updo to ensure hold.

STEP 5: To create the twisted ponytail, I first sectioned off the hair in front of the ears on both sides. I gathered the hair in the back into a low ponytail and secured with an elastic. Next I pulled the hair on one side towards the back and pinned over the top of the pony, then did the same on the opposite side bobby pinning the ends into the base of the pony.

STEP 6: For a soft touchable look that holds through the night I sprayed L’Oreal Paris Elnett Strong Hold Hairspray ($14.99) all over.

STEP 7: To finish off the look, I sprayed L’Oreal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Sleek It Strand Smoother Serum Spray ($4.99) for a touch of shine for the camera.
