Makeup artist Mai Quynh created a soft smoky eye for Joanne Froggatt to compliment her sleek black Honor dress and side-swept hair at the SAG Awards tonight. Here, the beauty breakdown.

Before starting the eye makeup, Mai applied Light Master Primer as a base. Then after completing the eye look, she started on Joanne’s complexion. She combined Luminous Silk #6.5 and #8 to create the perfect shade. She set the foundation with a sweep of Lasting Silk UV compact on the t-zone and applied Maestro Eraser under the eye to conceal and illuminate. To add color, Mai brushed Cheek Fabric blush on the apples of the cheeks and Sun Fabric bronzer around the hairline to frame the face.

After applying primer, Mai’s first step was the eye. She used Eye & Brow Maestro as the eyeshadow base – applying lash line to crease. Its texture creates a strong hold, and its slight iridescence begins the desired eye effect. Next, Mai used Eyes to Kill Quad #10 in the crease then Eyes to Kill Solo #8 in the lash line. She smudged Solo #8 into the lash line to provide definition, and pulled it out to create a subtle, soft cat eye. To complete the eye, she applied two coats of Eyes to Kill mascara.

Because the eye was the focal point of the look, Mai chose a nude shade of lipstick and lip gloss to polish Joanne’s visage.

To finish the look, Mai applied this air-light micro-diffusion mist to keep Joanne’s makeup looking freshly-finished all evening.
