In celebration of Joico’s new styling line hitting shelves this month, I’ve asked Damien Carney, Joico International Artistic Director for tips on how to use some of them. First up? Power Gel Sculpting Gel, a firm, yet flexible, alcohol-free gel that locks style in place for 24 hours. It even includes opal powder to impart an iridescent shine. Here’s how Damien says it’s best employed.
“I like using the gel on hair that requires a bit more discipline and/or control. I like the fact it’s a strong hold, but never dry, crispy, rigid or stiff. I can manipulate the gel to do whatever I want it to do. I like it to create super smooth, controlled looks. I also love it on curly or wavy hair as it defines the texture; it’s pliable and can be restyled and restyled.”
How are you using gel these days? Lately, I’ve been loving it for a smooth blow-out after years of using gel solely for curly looks.
