The World Is A Stage: September 2018

This installment of Rouge18’s “The World Is A Stage” series brings you a varied selection of art. There were several contenders for each of our categories—beauty, dance, music video, movie trailer, comedy, interview, and long form content—but only one winner could prevail for the month of August. Keep reading to find out who made the cut!

Beauty: I Got My Makeup Collection Professionally Organized by Safiya Nygaard

Inventive YouTuber Safiya Nygaard hired professional organizers to help her sort and organize all her makeup. If you’re a fan of organization porn and/or clear acrylic organizing containers, this video is for you.

Dance: Charity & Andres on World of Dance

This narrative-driven dance is filled with moves and tricks that don’t even seem like they’re meant to be performed by the human body.

Music Video: Ariana Grande Performs “God Is a Woman” at 2018 MTV Video Music Awards

This is an award show performance not an official music video, but the staging, imagery, costumes, and overall performance is just so beautiful.

Movie Trailer: Wings of Desire (1987)

From the music, to the color scheme, to the whimsy of it all, this imagined trailer for the 1987 film Wings of Desire is a piece of art in and of itself.

Comedy: That’s Cringe: Russ Edition

YouTubers Cody Ko, Noel Miller, and Spock continue their “That’s Cringe” series with a hilarious discussion and deep dive into the rapper Russ.

Interview: Bert Kreischer Threw His Daughter A Period Party – CONAN

This is one of my favorite interviews ever. As you can probably tell from the title, comedian Bert Kreischer talks about throwing his daughter a period party. It’s great, trust me.

Long Form Content: #MeToo – Men in Hollywood Share Their Real Feelings

The third episode of the Man Enough series, where Justin Baldoni (Jane The Virgin) convenes men for a roundtable dinner discussion on masculinity and manhood, focuses on the Me Too Movement and what men in Hollywood can do to help.
