I’m going to be honest with you — even though I’m David Koresh levels of evangelical about daily sunscreen applications, I don’t like the way it feels on my face, nor the fact that 99.9% of the formulas on the market clog my pores. So when I heard about this Japanese gem, Biore UV Aqua Rich Water Essence SPF 50+, in a secret beauty-focused Facebook group I’m in, I was sold. Nothing thrills me more than seeing PA++++ on a package. It glides on effortlessly, costs about $9 WITH SHIPPING FROM JAPAN ON AMAZON, plus, because it’s contraband, it’s chock full of all these glorious Asian UV filters that are more aesthetically pleasing on the skin. In other words, no chalky white cast post-application, just stunningly hydrated skin.
The formula is lightweight, the watery texture is nonsticky, and it absorbs like a Liam Hemsworth-punctuated cream. My skin is combination in the winter and veers on the oily side in the summer, so most SPFs leave me shiny AF after a few hours. Not this one, plus it boasts a super-sexy SPF of 50.
