The Secret To Natalie Portman’s Bold Brow Look

Pati Dubroff created Natalie Portman’s flirty ’50s look for last night’s Golden Globe Awards. Here, the beauty breakdown, in her words.

“Natalie’s dress has a classic ’50s feel that is very ‘Jackie’. For this look, we did a nod to this era while keeping it super feminine and optimistic; the makeup was focused around a strong brow and warm dewy skin, while the eyes were kept more defined. Her lips were given a bright dose of color with a fresh and flirty sheen.
To prep Natalie’s gorgeous skin, I used Capture Totale Dreamskin Advanced around the perimeter of her face to catch a glow on the height of her cheekbones. Next, I primed with the Forever & Ever Wear Primer at the center of her face to help her Forever Foundation stay put. I then dusted with a bit of Forever & Ever Control Loose Powder, and went back over using a fluffy brush to warm her skin with Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer Powder on the perimeter of her face.
To keep the strong focus on Natalie’s brows, I used two different tones in the Diorshow All-in-Brow 3D Long-Wear Brow Kit, to build color and give good definition. For her eyelids, I applied a soft brown shade to her creases from the Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette in Ambre Nuit, then some of the Diorshow Fusion Mono in Millenium to the centers of her lids. This effect gave off a khaki-gold gleam to play up the colors in Natalie’s chartreuse dress.
Finishing up with the eyes, I lined her top lashes with Diorshow Pro Liner in Pro Brown and applied a couple coats of Diorshow Mascara. Her bottom lashes and lash lines were kept completely clean.
For Natalie’s lips, I used Rouge Dior Lipstick in Opéra to create a stain then lined using Rouge Dior Lipliner in New World Matte. This combination of color made a beautiful, custom pink with a touch of coral. Finally, I added some shine using Dior Addict Lipstick in Ultra Dior.”
