I don’t know about you, but this warm December isn’t exactly a problem, but it’s not the one that comes to mind when I hear my favorite Mariah Carey festive jams. I find myself struggling to hit the fragrance equivalent that encompasses a Venn diagram of festive, cozy and alluring—with the added complexity of not overpowering for balmy climes, as it’s currently 60 degrees F. My usual winter scent suspects are all going unspritzed, for fear that they’ll inspire nauseating qualities in lieu of seductive ones. My new sophisticated go-to for fierce festivity that works for any weather is the glamorous Jimmy Choo Illicit, a perfume perfect for New Year’s Eve.
Hypnotic, yet feminine AF, this fragrance juxtaposes a “fizzy start” and a “floral heart,” according to perfumer Anne Flipo. The floriental is pretty enough to pair with fluid fabrics, while edgy enough for leather, fusing top notes of ginger and bitter orange that give way to a heart of rose and sambac jasmine. Bottom notes of honey-amber accord and sandalwood temper the sweetness of the fruity florals.
Jimmy Choo Illicit perfume retails at Macy’s for $112 for the 3.3 fl. oz eau de parfum.
This post is sponsored by Jimmy Choo fragrances, however, all opinions herein are my own.
