Melanie Inglessis used Kate Somerville and Make Up For Ever to create Amber Heard’s gorgeous bronzed-out gaze and nude-rose lip combo, a look I’ve been rocking all summer. I’ve been doing it up with Nudestix’ Brown Sugar iteration, but Amber H’s look has more depth. I’m definitely going to recreate this one. Here, the breakdown from Melanie.
“I started by preparing Amber’s skin with Kate Somerville Quench Hydrating Face Serum, which feels so luxurious and silky on the skin and provides instant hydration. I let it sit on the skin for a minute then sprayed a little rose water over it and blotted the excess with a tissue. Next, I applied Kate Somerville Nourish Daily Moisturizer to create a beautiful, hydrated complexion.
As a makeup base, I used Kate Somerville IllumiKate CC Cream. This CC cream is perfect for someone who needs just a little coverage but maximum protection with a high SPF of 50. I powdered the T-zone only, as I wanted Amber to have a glow, with Make Up For Ever HD loose powder.
I added a little freshness to the look by applying a cream bluster in coral/pink, just on the apple of the cheeks.
For Amber’s smoldering smoky eyes, I started with Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream, shade 14, which a deep burgundy. I applied it all over the eyelids with a flat brush, blotting over the crease and the bottom lash line.
Using a crease brush, I worked the crease back and forth with YSL Ombres Duo Lumieres #33, the burgundy color is vibrant and has some shimmer in it which makes it easy to blend. After creating depth in the lid, I brought the color under the bottom lash line to create a smoky look.
I dabbed Make Up For Ever Poudre Irisee/Star Powder just in the center of the lid to catch that light and finished with two coats of black mascara on top and bottom lashes.
I left lips a very pretty, natural color, drawn with Make Up For Ever Aqua Lip in Nude Beige and topped with Terry Rose Balm.”
