Renato Campora created this perfectly pretty plaited look for the gorgeous Amanda Seyfried at the “While We Were Young” premiere last night. What’s more appropriate than a young ‘do for a youth-themed movie? “When I saw Amanda’s dress, I knew I wanted the hair to feel youthful, playful, and innocent. I decided on french braids but still wanted to maintain a bit of sophistication and structure.” Here, the how-to, courtesy of Renato.
“Beginning with dry hair, I applied Oribe Foundation Mist and used a blow dryer and brush to refresh her hair after a day of press.
Next I made a center part from the top of the head to the nape of the neck, creating two sections. I applied Oribe Rough Luxury Molding Wax in sections to give the hair texture and hold. I then began the french braid on one side of the head. I made sure to start with a small section (about a quarter to a half inch) so the braid laid flat on the head. I pulled the top of the hair tight, which really opened up Amanda’s beautiful eyes. As I continued the braid down her head, I gradually increased the size of the sections and secured the end with a hair tie. I molded the remaining piece of the braid into my desired shape at the nape of the neck and secured with pins. I then repeated the same process on the other side of the head.
I finished off the look with a bit of N.4 Mighty Hairspray.”
What do you think of this effect on Amanda? Yay or nay?
