Hairstylist Derek Williams created this sleek, lengthy look for Jenna Dewan Tatum, A.K.A. she who hath the last name we all wish we had. Magic indeed. “Jenna is so effortlessly beautiful and loves playing with texture in her hair, so I wanted the movement and waves to be effortless,” said Derek. Here’s how he created this look.

“I prepped her damp hair with Kevin Murphy Anti-Gravity Spray at her roots and Kevin Murphy Hair Resort Beach Spray throughout.

Next, I rough dried her hair with my hands, having her flip her head upside down. Once dry, I switched back and forth between a large curling iron and a GHD Eclipse Flat Iron to make bends in the hair. Switching between two different irons is a great trick to creating a natural look, as natural texture doesn’t have the same pattern.

I finished with Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray for more body and movement – and added a light veil of Oribe Superfine Hairspray.”
