I’m on a John Frieda kick myself (the brand’s newly formulated version of their iconic Frizz-Ease is the key to my sleek, smooth LIFESTYLE this week–more to come on that), so I’m excited to replicate Amy Adams’ American Hustle premiere hairstyle, created by Laini Reeves. Here’s how to get the look.

Step 1 – Prep

To begin, Laini applied Luxurious Volume Volume Building Mousse throughout Amy’s wet hair for added texture ($5.99 at drugstores) and used a paddle brush to blow-dry Amy’s hair straight from root to tip.

Step 2 – Style

Next, Laini gave Amy a low side part and tucked the remainder of her hair on the left side gently behind the ear. Then, to prep the hair for the flat iron, Laini applied a dime-sized amount of Frizz-Ease Thermal Protection Formula Hair Serum ($9.99 at drugstores) throughout to protect Amy’s hair from the heat of the iron as well as guarantee smooth, frizz-free locks.

Step 3 – Perfect

After flat ironing straight, Laini sprayed Frizz-Ease Moisture Barrier Firm Hold Hairspray ($5.99 at drugstores). For a flawless finish, Laini also spritzed hairspray into her palm and used her fingers to apply the spray onto the front of the hairline and the part to curb away any fly-aways.
