“Carmen’s inspiration for this collection was techno-tribal and when I saw the clothes they reminded me of the Aztecs. The clothes in Carmen’s spring collection are all monochromatic with black, white and small pops of color. I knew the hair couldn’t be romantic – I didn’t want anything long and wavy or to do a ponytail – the hair needed to be strong! I thought these graduated bobs were the perfect complement to the clothes; we’re constantly doing them in my salons! I wanted to take the trend of dip-dye or ombre and the bob and take them to the extreme to make them fun and youthful. We knew that the best way to make this strong statement with the hair was to create them with wigs! I have to thank my team because we were in the salon until 1am this morning dying and cutting the wigs to create this look! I think women of any age can take something from this look – women in their 20s can pull it off just as I’ve designed it, while a woman in her 40s would look great with a softened bob with little to no ombre. 

To create this look we cut the wigs into a graduated bob with either blunt bangs or a side part. Next, the wigs were dyed using a dip-dye ombre method. At the show, we gave the hair a smooth finish using ted gibson hairsheet styling and blow dried. The wigs were then flat ironed and set with ted gibson beautiful hold hairspray. I love a bold Gibson girl!”
