Met Ball 2013 Hairstyle: Blake Lively

Blake Lively rocked an edgy take on a modern tri-ponytail at the MET Ball on Monday, May 6, 2013. Her hair was inspired by her Gucci dress. The look? Three ponytails looped together to create an edgy take on a modern classic, created by celebrity hairstylist Rod Ortega. Here’s how he got the look.

Rod blew out Blake’s hair using the T3 Featherweight Luxe 2i dryer until her hair was fully dry. Following this step, he used the T3 BodyWaver to create loose waves and volume throughout the hair. “The BodyWaver is ideal for volumizing and creating body, texture and waves,” Rod said.
Using clear, thin elastic bands, Rod took the hair in three sections: the crown, the back of the head and the nape of the neck and created looped ponytails. He finished the look with hairspray.

DIY:
Dry hair completely using T3 Featherweight Luxe 2i hair dryer
Add waves to entire head using the T3 BodyWaver
Starting at the crown, divide hair into three sections Create one ponytail then loop hair through and create another, repeat for three ponytails total
What do you think of Blake Lively’s ‘do here? I think she looks stunning
