Makeup maestro Kate Lee created this beautiful look for Mad Men’s Jessica Paré at the 2012 Emmys. She brought her red lip A-game, and I so appreciated it in a sea of nude lip moments. A nude lip on a red carpet is such a snore to me. Here’s how she got the look, using Chanel beaute makeup products.
Inspiration:
“Jessica wore a white asymmetric gown with a black belt. The hairstylist and I wanted to keep the look elegant but still young and approachable. I settled on the perfect orange red mouth with a defined groomed brow and full luscious lashes.
Skin Care
Skin was moisturized with CHANEL Hydra Beauty Serum, then I primed with Laura Mercier’s skin primer with Radiance to give dimension and luminosity to her skin.
Foundation
I used CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 to perfect the skin, and added small amounts of Make Up Forever Uplight to her cheekbones, bridge of nose and jaw line. Right before she walked out the door I used a tiny amount of Cle De Peau Translucent powder just to the top of the hairline, tip of nose and chin to diffuse the light.
Blush
I used a soft shading color to defines Jessica’s cheek bones, then hit the apples of the cheeks with CHANEL Powder Blush in Pink Explosion, which is a beautiful blue pink, to counteract the orange red lip.
Eye Shadow
To define the eye socket I used Laura Mercier’s eye shadow in Ginger which is a pinkish brick color – this helps to boost the natural eye color. The lid and brow bone were left naked and along the lower lash line I used a taupish brown to define the lower lash line and into the outer socket which helps to elongate the socket line.
Eye Liner
Inside the eyes I used CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in Clair to pop open the eyes.
Mascara
Le Volume de CHANEL Mascara in Noir helped me to define each lash and add volume to the lashes. It also helps keep the curl in place.
Lips
Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in Coromandel, which is an Orange Red, was my color of choice. ”
Do you think Jessica Pare looks amazing or what?
