Could anyone deny that this summer has been a beast? Those hellacious twins, heat and humidity have wreaked havoc on my beauty routine. Clearly, the serum-moisturizer two-step, followed by foundation, is a dance that currently clunks. Too much moisture, too little time to dry, beading make-up — you get the picture.
Enter La Prairie to the rescue, and not a moment too soon (too bad I didn’t avail myself of this solution earlier in the season). I’m referring to the Anti-Aging Hydra Tint (SPF 20). It’s a moisturizing lotion and feather-light foundation in one. Sleekly packaged in a silvery container, it resembles nothing so much as a really elegant stick deodorant, though of course, it’s nothing of the sort. It opens from the bottom, via a flat cap and needs a bit of a squeeze to apply. Out comes a silky-textured beige emulsion that glides over the face with ease. Voila, done. Since the coverage is light, you may need to fill in here and there with concealer. The result may be somewhat shy of photo-readiness but hey, it’s summertime and for beating around as I do, it’s just right.
Another La Prairie item I’ve been favoring these days is the Skin Caviar Luxe Eye Cream. Served up in a stylish, cobalt and chrome jar, generously –sized (for an eye cream), its lavish contents are a pleasure to apply. Rich and penetrating, a little goes a long way. The results are gratifying. Creases and crepiness dependably vanish. Excellent.
