Get The Look: Kate Beckinsale’s Makeup & Hairstyle At The ‘Total Recall’ Premiere

Is it just me or is Kate Beckinsale aging backwards? The beautiful Brit’s beauty dream team at the premiere of “Total Recall” comes courtesy of makeup artist Molly R. Stern and celebrity hairstylist Mara Roszak. She looks incred. Here, the beauty breakdown straight from Molly and Mara.
MAKEUP
The makeup inspiration? “Her look was edgy and undone while still looking flawless for a big Hollywood night out. Wearing a reptile printed Armani Prive dress, Kate left looking like a serpent goddess,” explains Molly.

“I started by prepping her skin with Jurlique Rose Water Balancing Mist, then I prepped her skin for foundation by using By Terry Serum De Rose. Lastly I prepped her eyes with Arcona Eye Dew which is ideal under eye shadow, it hydrates and smoothes.

For her skin I used Chantecaille Future Skin Foundation for a sheer yet luminous finish.
Next I applied Laura Mericer Cream Blush in Oleander to the apples of her cheeks, and dusted NYX illuminating Bronzer in Magnetic on her high cheek bones to reflect the light.

For her eyes I based the lid with NYX Cream Shadow in Gunmetal and then brightened the shade by dusting the olive green shadow from YSL 5 Colour Harmony for Eyes in Garden of Eden all over the lid up to crease. Next I popped the inside of her lid with Beauty is Life Perfect Shine Eyes in Palmery. To define Kate’s lash line, I applied Hourglass Calligraphy Black Eyeliner as a base and then topped that off with Glam Liner Aqua Luxe by NYX in #08 which is a golden olive color. I lined underneath the lash line with the same olive liner to get a smudgey finish that would last all night. I curled her lashes with my trusted Shu Uemura lash curler and then applied two coats of Laura Mericer Full Blow Volume Lash Building Mascara.

To finish off her look for lips, I blotted down my application of Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Canvas and topped that off with the uber sparkling NYX Glam Lip Gloss in #07 VIP.”

HAIRSTYLE

Mara Roszak took inspiration from Kate’s structured dress and  created a texturized look for the red carpet. Mara described Kate’s look as “edgy and undone, with an effortless feel.”

Step 1  Prep and Texturize
Achieving the undone quality of Kate’s hair relies on creating texture while preventing flyaways. Start by evenly applying John Frieda Frizz-Ease Curl Reviver Styling Mousse ($6 at drugstores) through towel-dried hair to tame frizz, boost shine and build texture. For added volume, spray roots with a texturizing spray and rough dry.

Step 2 Secure the Style
Next, twist small sections of hair to create tousled texture. Once hair is completely dry, gently tease the crown for a bit of height. Next, pull hair back create a loose braid. Tuck the ends under and pin in place with bobby pins, crossing the pins to secure the look and make sure the braid stays in place. Allow pieces in the front to fall out and frame the face.

Step 3 Polish and Perfect
To finish the look, spray John Frieda Frizz-Ease Moisture Barrier Firm-Hold Hair Spray ($6 at drugstores) on your fingertips and pinch sections while rubbing your fingers together on the hair to add more texture and break up the look. Then in an even, all-around motion, mist a thin coat of hair spray to set the look.

What do you think of Kate Beckinsale’s glowy red carpet moment at the premiere of “Total Recall?”
