Finest Hour Week: Body

Finest Hour Week: Body

We’ve discussed skin, hair, hair removal and makeup during the duration of Finest Hour Week–now let’s talk bod. If you’re wearing something even somewhat revealing, you’ll need to be in tip top form. Here are my recs for a glowing bod worthy of Never Been Kissed‘s Josie Gellar‘s prom 2.0 look.

Clean & Clear Boost Mango & Papaya Morning Burst Body Wash
This combo smells delightful and is sure to invigorate your skin in prep for showcasing some major moves on the dancefloor. AND it’s only $7 at soap.com.

Olay Soothing Cucumber Wash
If your skin’s on the drier side, this new heavenly wash from Olay boasting ribbons of moisture will lock in hydration and send dry, scaly legs the way of Goldman Sachs’ reputation. It’s under $8 at drugstores.

Bliss Blood Orange +White Pepper Foaming Body Scrub
My favorite scrub in the UNIVERSE. The peppy citrus-meets-pepper scent is divine; the non-oily scrub sloughs dead skin cells out of your life quickly AND it’s the only body polish I know of that foams so it cleanses, as well. To die. $36 at sephora.com.

Lush Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner
While I’m literally involved with every other beauty product on the planet, I draw the line at body lotion. I hate being cold while I’m waiting for it to dry; I hate the way it feels on my clothes. So I LOVE taking care of that in-shower, then toweling off with smooth, supple skin. This stuff smells like champagne to me, which the great Brian Flanagan of “Cocktail”always said was “perfume going in, sewage going out.” Here, you can save that pesky second part and make Brian proud by juggling the jar in the shower. $29 at lush.com.

Sonia Kashuk Golden Self-tanning Towelettes
I swear Sonia is not paying to me to discuss three of her products in a single week, her stuff is just THAT good. I’m a huge fan of Kate Somerville’s tanning towelettes, but at $48 for 8, I have to ration them. In between Kate S towelette sessions once a week, I swipe on some of Sonia’s, which yield a golden, natural looking glow and don’t have that horrible diving-into-coins-Scrooge-McDuck-style scent. At $10 for 4 wipes at target.com, how can you afford NOT to stock up?

Jergens Original Scent Cherry Almond Moisturizer
I do reserve the right to rock lotion on special occasions and this one remains my all time fave. I always tell people never to splurge on body lotion when Jergens makes one that smells expensive and costs $7 AND moisturizes like crazy.  $7 at amazon.com.

Stay tuned for the final Finest Hour Week post on prom-worthy perfumes!
