Girls, what did we think about Christina Aguilera at the MTV Movie Awards? Obviously she looked fabulous. Obviously, she’s a super-human talent. The whole thing reaked a bit of Gaga to me. Don’t you think? But her makeup was fabulously retro and as you know, THAT’S what we’re really here to discuss. Celebrity makeup artist Kristofer Buckle did the makeup honors for Christina’s highly-anticipated appearance. Kristofer shared the scoop on Christina’s red carpet look:

The mission, says Kristofer, was to give Christina “perfect ivory skin and strong bone structure” to highlight her bold and classic red lip. To start, Kristofer prepped the skin with Lancôme’s new Teint Idole Fresh Wear Foundation in Bisque (I’m newly SMITTEN with this foundation–stay tuned for a review) and Maquicomplet Complete Coverage Concealer in Ivoire (a makeup artist favorite). For the eyes, Kristofer swept YSL Ombre Solo Smoothing Effect Eyeshadow in #2 Cashmere Brown along the crease. Three coats of Hypnôse Drama Mascara in Excessive Black topped the upper lashes and one light coat coated the lower lashes.

For Christina’s glam red pout, Kristofer first lined with Lancôme’s Le Lipstique Lipcolouring Stick in Rougelle, a sheer red liner. Color Design Matte Lipstick in Red Haute delivered the rich dose of red—perfect for the iconic pop star.

P.S. For me, the best moment of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards was when my gal Dana from Posessionista called Christina Aguilera’s crotch bling “pubic circonium.” HYSTER.
