It’s Not In His Kiss, It’s In His Brows.

So, Daneen’s post about Robert Pattinson’s hair being the key to his hotness got me thinking about the number one thing that attracts me to a dude. Obviously, hair is vitally important. Hair, in general, is my everything. We know this. But for me, even more than the follicles atop a man’s head, it’s his eyebrows I find alluring. I love a dude with good brows. To me, there’s something retro about it. In the time when men were men and women were women (I’ve started countless sentences with this phrase), nearly ALL men had brows that commanded a presence. It’s far less common nowadays. Now, obviously, it’s a fine line. So, on a scale of hot to Peter Gallagher, the dudes pictured below all fall in the hot bucket.

Here’s my highly scientific top ten list of brow hotness. Brace yourself.

#1 Robert Pattinson

#2 James Dean

#3 Colin Farrell

#4 Ryan Reynolds

#5 Brody Jenner

#6 James Franco

#7 Joey McIntyre (Joey has even answered in interviews that he believes the reason girls love him is his eyebrows.)

#8 Zac Efron (Yes, he’s what I’ve termed “efreminate.” But isn’t at least a portion of his prettiness attributed to his brows? )

#9 Marlon Brando

#10 Ed Westwick

What do you think? Do you agree that a man’s appeal is in his brows? I’d also posit that in certain cases (albeit far fewer than eyebrow-induced hotness), it’s a dude’s jawline/mouth combo. Exhibit A: Ben Affleck. Tell me your hotness rubrics in the comments. Go.

I love this post. Can’t believe I didn’t see it until now. You MUST do a post of eyebrow over-groomers. (like the Jonas Brothers circa 2007. Haha!) There are so many offenders, they need to be called to the table 🙂

I’ve always thought it was in the eyes and I stand by it! Seriously, go down the list again and just look at their eyes! After considering the affect of eyebrows, I’ve concluded that eyebrows do, or at least are supposed, to frame your face and is the next thing you see when gazing into a man’s eyes, but probably don’t acknowledge because it’s typically not a big deal (until now!). So eyes take center stage but brows are definitely like the stage? if that makes sense?

Mr. Bass has gorgeous eyes… as well as a badass personality which can also be attributed to James Franco by the way he looks although I don’t even know who he is. So personality is also a factor! I guess almost everything is. I’m rambling!

I know what you mean! My boyfriend has lovely brows and girls like to comment about how nice, yet masculine they look lol

Like Leah said, I think you missed Crawford 😛

So, can we then say that the thicker the brow, the hotter the man? although, I guess there’s a reason why caterpillar-browed Peter Gallagher and Noel Gallagher didn’t make your list.
But I’ve finally realized now why James Franco is so hot – perfect arches! 🙂

Zac Efron is going to come up again as just a little too girly — tweens/teens are all about the non-threatening pretty boys — but you’re right: they’re just strong enough to prevent him falling into the effeminite class. Love this list!

Ryan Reynolds brows look great in the photo you have, but in some of his movies and definitely on “Two Guys and a Pizza Place,” they appear to be a little too filled in. Too much brow powder plus movie makeup occasionally = a plastic-looking Ryan. Not that I’m too bothered by that… who’s looking at the brows when his shirt’s off?

I’m actually not into Zac’s look either (WAYYYYYY too pretty) but I included him because I believe a major part of his appeal (to girls who appreciate a more efreminate–a cross between efron and effeminate–dude) is in his brows.

My combo is the strong brow/jawline/cheekbone combo (see Ben Affleck). That’s how you can find a MAN–not a pretty boy.

I think I’m with you on this – but never really realized it before.
Being an aesthetician, I’m very into how womens brows look, but apparently I’m attracted to strong male brows as well!
