If you’re thinking of switching up your ‘do, I recommend this time and place: Sunday, April 12th at Serge Normant at John Frieda Salon in Chelsea.

The salon will join with partners nationwide for the annual HAIRraising Cut-a-Thon to help raise a million dollars for sick children in need. Founded by hair honchos John Frieda and Gail Federici, the organization unites salon to support the life-saving care, breakthrough cures and cutting-edge treatments that bring the world’s sickest children to Boston Children’s Hospital. First, the HAIRraising Cut-a-Thon was rolled out to a benefit a salon in London, and like pilgrims, the pair brought this beauty event for a good cause from England to New England.

Throughout the day, participating salons will provide haircuts at a discounted price ($25-$80 for haircuts and blowouts) and donate 100% of the proceeds to Boston Children’s Hospital’s vital work. NYC’s own Big T NYC will serve and sell their couture loose leaf teas with 100% of the proceeds benefitting the cause. Find a salon at hairraising.org/find-a-salon.

Serge Normant At John Frieda Salon is located at 336 West 23rd Street in New York City.
