Beauty Breakdown: Anne Hathaway’s Hairstyle & Makeup At The One Day Premiere

Anne Hathaway’s rocked an effortlessly chic hairstyle and makeup at the One Day premiere. Fekkai‘s Adir Abergel created the hairstyle while makeup artist Kate Lee for Chanel applied her makeup.
Hairstyle
Adir Abergel’s hair inspiration? A wavy, effortless 1970’s look that was soft and romantic. Adir began by applying Fekkai Advanced Full Blown Volume Styling Whip to the roots of the wet hair. He then added Fekkai Coiff Bouffant Lifting and Texturizing Spray Gel from the middle of the hair to the bottom, helping to hold a slight natural wave. Adir then dried the hair while using a Fekkai Large Round Brush to ensure that the ends of the hair had a nice bend. Once the hair was completely dry, he used a 1” curling iron to create waves from the middle of the hair to the ends. After allowing the hair to cool, he added softness to the waves by spraying Fekkai Sheer Hold Hairspray and brushing it through. Adir finished the look by applying Fekkai Advanced Brilliant Glossing Sheer Shine Mist to the ends of the hair, creating beautiful shine and bounce.

Makeup
CHANEL Celebrity Makeup Artist Kate Lee created Anne’s striking red carpet beauty look at last night’s New York premiere of One Day. Kate gave me the scoop on how to get Anne’s stunning look. Said Kate, “Annie wore a black Alexander McQueen resort collection gown with gold embroidery. The dress had a great structure to it, so we wanted to keep the look cute, young and casual. For her face, I started with CHANEL Perfection Lumière Long Wear Makeup SPF 10 (launching October 2011), which I swept across Annie’s skin and perfected with a sponge. On her eyes, I used Burberry sheer eye shadow in Antique Rose, which is a purplish brown that defined her socket line. I drew a thin line with CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in Noir at the base of the lashes, top and bottom, and also inside of the waterline to give an ink pot effect. Then over the top, with a small natural fiber brush, I padded CHANEL Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Eyeshadow in Mirifique which I took to the outer corner, blending a tiny amount under the eye to soften the shape. I curled the lashes with the new CHANEL Precision Eyelash Curler and coated her lashes with a few strokes of CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara…then a few extras were added for even more intensity! Her brows were slicked into place with Anastasia Brow Gel. I defined her cheek bones with Kevin Aucoin shading colour in Medium and I finished her look by applying CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Fetiche on the lips.”
