Here’s how subtly pretty formal makeup is done, ladies. Take a page from Natalie Portman‘s sultry, elongated eye look at the American Friends Of The Paris Opera Ballet event this week, created by Jacob Bailey for Dior Beauty.
Said Jacob, “Natalie mentioned she had recently seen the 1968 film ‘Shalako’ and had loved Brigitte Bardot’s makeup in the film. So that’s where I took the inspiration for last night’s look from, knowing that Natalie’s almond shaped eyes would look incredible with smoky, sultry, elongated eye makeup similar the that in the film and that it was a great look to pair with her outfit, a chic black suit with a plunging neckline. To create the eye look, I first used the Diorshow Art Pen, a black liquid liner, along the lash line and extended it outward toward the temples to create the elongated ‘winged effect’ I applied a shimmery taupe new Dior Mono Fusion shadow into the crease of her eyelid and lined her bottom lashes with a plum-colored shadow and smudged it with a small eyeshadow brush to create a ‘smoky effect.'” Here’s how to get the look.
