For the 2016 Emmys celebrity makeup artist Ashunta Sheriff created “a soft yet smoldering goddess look that was simple and beautiful” for Taraji P. Henson. Here, the beauty breakdown, courtesy of Ashunta.

Skin:
I prepared Taraji’s skin using Kate Somerville Goat Milk De-Puffing Eye Balm to decrease puffiness and hydrate her eyes. Then I used my favorite [Kate Somerville] product, DermalQuench Liquid Lift, followed by Quench Oil-Free Serum. Both of these products work together to plump, hydrate and give skin that superior radiant glow.

Face:
I applied Dior Airflash CC Primer, which has a radiance booster, to create an even canvas to apply makeup.  Next, I applied Perfect Blend Stick by Ashunta Sheriff in Tan to create a natural, glowing contour and lifted canvas. For cheeks I used Highlight The Truth from Taraji’s MAC Collection on cheekbones and then followed with Taraji Glow for highlight.

Eyes:

I wanted to create a soft rose glow effect with Taraji’s eyes, using products from her MAC Collection.  I applied Highlight The Truth on the lid, just tapping with my finger, and using an angle brush on her lower lash line for a soft smoky effect.  I added Taraji Glow, a coppery gold highlight, in the corner and center of her eyes to make them pop.  I applied Penultimate Eye Liner to give a tight precise line on top lash line and finished by applying Haute and Naughty To Black Lash Mascara.
Lips:
I lined her lips with MAC Lip Pencil in Cork and added MAC Strip Me Down Lipstick – a gorgeous nutty nude color.

Body:

I finished by applying Kate Somerville Quench Oil-Free Serum on her body for the ultimate body glow.
