After lots of sleek hair and white dresseds, Rosamund Pike shook it up sartorially and beautywise at the SAG Awards. Celebrity makeup artist Melanie Inglesssis did the makeup honors. Here, the details on how to get the look, straight from Melanie. 

“Rosamund wore an asymmetrical, sheer, playful black dress – it was fun, yet elegant and modern. We wanted to honor that dynamic and settled for a pop of color on the lip.

FACE: 

After applying foundation, I gently dusted CHANEL Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Broad Spectrum SPF 15 all over the face, then created depth and contour with CHANEL Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base.

EYES: 

With Make Up For Ever Aqua Matic Waterproof Glide-On Eyeshadow in Metallic Golden Taupe, I created an all over wash of color. Using CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Prélude, I softly defined the crease with a darker tone, then used a lighter tone to highlight the browbone and inner corners.

LIPS:

This being the focus of the look, I really wanted a fun poppy lip. When you’re doing a strong pop of color, I like to run a concealer very lightly over the lips to neutralize their natural color, along with a translucent powder, going a little over the edge to create a barrier and prevent bleeding. I filled in the lips first with a bright orange liner – to give me a strong base. After liner, I patted it with my ring finger, really working in the color, waiting a few minutes and applying CHANEL Limited Edition Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Colour in La Pétillante.”
