Pantene’s National Donate Your Hair Day

I talk a lot about growing my hair (I’ve even cracked the scientific code to get the job done; it’s all about three magical pills a day) but the only thing more beautiful than finally achieving your goal length is subsequently chopping it off and donating it to a woman who can’t just take some supplements and grow hers. To that end, Pantene will be hosting its third annual National Donate Your Hair Day (NDYHD) event on Saturday, November 22, 2014.  This annual day of giving encourages people nationwide to cut and donate their hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, and in partnership with Seventeen Magazine, Pantene will host three National Donate Your Hair Day cutting events this year in New York, Los Angeles, and Miami.

This year, the Rita Hazan Salon (NYC), Nine Zero One salon (LA) and the Gabriel Samra salon (Miami) will be offering FREE cuts and styles for anyone wanting to donate their hair on National Donate Your Hair Day.  All information (including how to make an appointment) can be found on the Official Pantene Beautiful Lengths Blog.

And if you can’t donate your mane, donate some money. Pantene Beautiful Lengths is expanding the program by enabling more people to get involved than ever before by creating a monetary donation component to the program. In partnership with the Greater Cincinnati Fund, Beautiful Lengths will now allow everyone who wants to participate in the cause a way to show their support and the creation of more wigs than ever before.  Donations can be made here.

As Cher Horowitz once sagely misquoted Dickens, “‘Tis a far better thing doing stuff for other people.” Have you donated your hair? Tell me all about it in the comments.
