Marcus Francis created the Mad Men star’s mondo-bun, which she pulls off flawlessly. Zoo bizoo bi ‘DO. Marcus says, “Jessica and I felt this was the event to bring regal glamour to her hairstyle and overall look. Hitchcock films always evoked women feeling beautifully polished, classic and confident. Tippi Hedren was his muse, and she immediately became ours to capture Jessica’s hairstyle for the Met Ball.” Here’s how he got the look.
On damp hair, apply Suave Professionals Volumizing Root Boost Spray at the roots, and Suave Professionals Volumizing Mousse on the mid shaft and ends. Rough dry with your hands to activate the natural lift at the roots and then blow dry hair with a round brush.
Create a 3-inch triangle section at the front hairline and bring the rest of the hair into a high ponytail and secure at the top of the crown with an elastic. Take small sections of hair from the ponytail and curl with a 3/4″ iron and pin curl each one. Do the same for the front triangle section, curling each section away from the face horizontally. Allow the curls to set for 10 minutes.
Undo the pins from the ponytail first, brushing each curl out and gently back combing for a fuller wave effect. Lightly spray with Suave Professionals Touchable Finish Lightweight Hold Hairspray and twist each section in random movements, pinning with hair pins. Repeat this step to create a twisted high bun.
Undo the pins from the front triangle section and brush out. Lightly tease at the root and twist hair back, securing with pins. Lock in the look with Suave Professionals Touchable Finish Extra Hold Hairspray.
