Official Mascara Correspondent Ashleigh Ciucci gives L’Oreal Paris False Fiber Lashes Black Lacquer Mascara a whirl–and discovers her new favorite lash lengthener. Her review:
I love love love L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes mascara, so I was really looking forward to trying their False Fiber Lashes version. While I’m not a fan of fiber mascaras (hello, contacts), I trust the fact that the packaging is similar to the Million Lashes formula. With the same brush (long, tapered, spiraled bristled) and the same tube (but black instead of gold) this is the cousin of my beloved formula.
So I dove right in; with one coat, I had majorly mondo lashes. There was length. There was curl. There was tapered definition. When I moved in for coat two, there formula had dried a little. As I worked the formula into my roots here is where I first noticed the fibers. I got great thickness at the base of my lashes but as I worked the formula to the tips, it got a little clumpy and fibrous. While I was able to work through those initial clumps, I stopped there.
By midday, the natural oils around my eyes had softened the formula and my touch-up coat gave me near-false-lash status. I didn’t notice any fallen fibers in my eyes or on my face throughout the day, which is nice. The real kicker about my new fave mascara? It washed off with soap and water. Run, don’t walk to get this baby.–Ashleigh Ciucci
