Lipstick Queen Poppy King, purveyor of perfectly pigmented pout prettifiers, has teamed up with Brit brand Boots No7 on a collection called The Magic of Lipstick. It features seven shades of Boots No7 Lipstick and seven shades of Boots No7 Lipgloss, all for $10 each. Poppy’s Lipstick Queen collection is priced considerably higher, so get INVOLVED.
This is THE holiday gift for your glamourpuss friend. You know the one. She owns the Breakfast at Tiffany‘s special edition DVD. She still calls it “rouge.” She wouldn’t be caught dead without her signature swipe of lipstick and she can hot-roll her hair in four minutes flat whilst (she’s the kind of girl who still employs “whilst”) drinking a martini. In other words, she rolls her hair and puts her lipstick on in the glass of her boudoir.
The collection is somewhat of a departure for princess of pigment Poppy–she loves a loud and bold lipstick moment. Slightly more sheer, The Magic Of Lipstick Boots No7 Lipsticks go on with a lighter hand, but the texture is phenomenal. These conditioning lipsticks are incredible–moisturizing, have a nice glide on lips, and yield a sheer-to medium color pay off that builds easy enough. Lipstick Queen fans will note that the glide of the lipstick doesn’t disappoint in its Target iteration. It doesn’t drag at all. I tested out Intrigue, a nude reddish pink. In short, it follows the Lady Gaga method of lipstick application: “Don’t be a drag, just be a QUEEN.”
The lipstick leaves a slightly glossy finish, but applying a “top coat” of the No7 Lipgloss will intensify the color while adding a vinyl shine. Lucky enough each of the lipsticks features a shade of lipgloss in the same shade. It comes with a sponge tip applicator and yields a non-sticky finish, a major bonus for a drugstore deal.
The Magic Of Lipstick Boots No7 Lipstick Collection retails for $10 each at target.com. They’re perfect for stocking stuffers.
