When we arrived at  the section of the walled Medina (as Ashley hailed it, a Funky Cold Medina) of Essouria, Morocco where Heure Bleue Palais is situated, our little tour group was kind of… underwhelmed. But once you enter and are met with the facade of the hotel itself from the front, it is BREATHTAKINGLY gorgeous. 



The open-air riad boasts an elegance I don’t even think I’ve previously experienced.  With influences of Africa, Europe and the Orient, it radiates the romance of faraway places, mixing it with traditional North African charm, warmth and hospitality.  Heure Bleue’s staff are friendly and quietly efficient. The breakfast alone is worthy of TOMES.
