Such sad news, friends. Evelyn Lauder was an amazing woman. A refugee of Nazi-occupied Europe, she married into the biggest family in beauty after meeting Leonard Lauder (son of Estee) on a blind date. It was she who created the Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Ribbon campaign. She was a huge advocate of women. This is such an enormous loss. I saw Evelyn about a year ago at a WWD beauty awards event and I’ll always remember her saying that she slathered her arms and decollete nightly with Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair–the secret to her youthful skin at 75.
