Not the goal. Would be better layered over a bright shade.

Fictionary is a column showcasing beauty-related words that don’t exist, but should.

You know when you’re REALLY excited to try a new glitter polish? You envision what your life will be like with your new opaque sparkly talons. Obviously, you’ll be 77% more attractive. Except!
You brush a little onto your first nail (starting at the pinky, the way your nail tech does) and it’s SHEER. Read on…

You frustratedly realize you’ll be spending the next 45 minutes dedicated to applying 4-5 thin coats to avoid seeing your naked nail streaming through like the sunlight in your Vegas hotel room, thanks to your forgetting to draw the shades before bed. And you’re totally sheeritated–irritated in that way only a sheer polish which looks utterly pigmented in the bottle can make you. You don’t want to battle with the remover (everyone knows removing glitter is always a long story), but had you known, you’d have applied a color as a foundation underneath.

In short, as my gal Dina says, when it comes to nail polish, if you’re going to be a color, commit to being a color.
