I’m always a little wary about lash primers and bases. I find that they often leave lashes brittle or they don’t offer any added pay-off. Leave it to the oldest cosmetic company in the world to do lash primers right. Shiseido’s Nourishing Mascara Base is a clear milky serum that leaves the lashes looking a little wet, but doesn’t dry hard. Comparing a primer-less lash to a primed lash, I found that my mascara adhered a lot better to the primed lash. I was able to pull the product out further on the tips of my lashes, providing added length. It didn’t alter the wear or my afternoon touch-up. Put this baby if your lash arsenal!
