The Beauty Product from Another Country I’m Irrationally Obsessed With column features international beauty gems that cross my path about which I feel you, the reader, are on a need-to-know.
So the other night, I attended a Clairol event for their new Nice n’ Easy Color Blend Foam held at color connoisseur Marie Robinson‘s Flatiron District salon. More on that in an upcoming post, but what I want to share is the delight of a Swedish hair product I discovered when one of Marie’s stylists blew out my friend Lauren‘s hair (she volunteered to be colored for the event). It’s called Ref Ocean Mist/303 ($18), and it’s not sold anywhere in the U.S. but at Marie Robinson.
The tagline: Like a swim in the Med. I love how it looks like something you’d throw in your SCUBA bag. This salt spray creates touseled waves in a flash and smells fresh and beachy. Our stylist sprayed it into Lauren’s damp hair, but you could also apply to drier locks for a more piecey look. And do you love the Scandinavian design? Why is it that Viking descendants are so fabulous at creating glamazing packaging for mundane things? The Europeanness of it all just slays me.

Hi Soos,
It’s $18.
You’re too funny! But just how much DOES this stuff cost?
I used to be obsessed with John Frieda’s Beach Blond Spray, but they discontinued it. I found it on Ebay for $100 and considered buying but this seems like a price effective alternative!
Thanks!!
