Official Mascara Correspondent Ashleigh Ciucci takes on her latest conquest: Josie Maran GOGO Instant Natural Volume Argan Mascara ($22 at Sephora.com). Find out how she fared, in her words:

Argan oil is a popular ingredient in cosmetics right now because of its strengthening and conditioning properties for hair (LASHES!). This black conditioning mascara goes on with a fat fluffy brush; being that this is one of my fave brush shapes, I was looking forward to the results.

Unfortunately, I really had to work to get the product to build on my lashes. With the first coat, I had a bit of color application, but not much volume. I dipped into the tube again for the second coat, but still no volume. I ended up using the excess product on the end of the brush to even get the product to adhere. because the brush isn’t all that firm, I wasn’t able to comb through the product get a nice soft lash effect; it was more clumpy and spiky at the tips. (Forget that afternoon touch-up!!!)

To top it all off, i had to use my heavy duty eyemakeup remover to get it off at the end of the day. Sadly, I wouldn’t buy this baby.
