The What’s On Your Vanity Series showcases a single beauty item a blogger loves because it’s effective, but also she feels she must keep out on top of her vanity because the gorgeous packaging must be displayed.

Shannon Nelson is a beauty blogging pioneer who writes the fabulous blog about all things bath, body and beyond, A Girl’s Gotta Spa.This Pennsylvania gal is super social media savvy and knows her way around a salon. Natch, I hit her up to find out what’s on her vanity. In Shannon’s words:

I don’t have a vanity, but I will look at my bathroom counter and pretend that it is all glitzy and glamorous and that I brush my hair at it 100x each night as if I were Marsha Brady.


My favorite thing on my vanity has got to be my skin care products. To me, these are superheros in jar form. My mom taught me from an early age to take good care of my skin and it has really paid off since I don’t look my age. From serums to toner to masks, exfoliants and moisturizers, my vanity has an overabundance of the Fountain of Youth right at my finger tips.
