I had the phenom experience of meeting the legendary François Nars for a one-on-one interview before his personal appearance at Barneys New York to sign copies of his new limited edition book 15X15. My friend Julia (Nars PR Director) hooked me up with the super spesh interview before his apearance where I got to ask François all of my burning questions I’ve had for the last 15 years. I’m covering the full interview in my other Internet home of Daily Makeover, but for the nonce, I must share a few things from the interview. Natch, it was totes the best day of my lifestyle.

When I asked François about his most used makeup item ever, he confessed that it was Nars Cosmetics Satin Lipstick in Honolulu Honey ($24). OBVIOUSLY I then made sure I owned it. This beigey nude shade has been used in countless shoots, shows and ads by Mr. Nars himself.

François was a total peach and was quite funny. When Julia spelled my name for him to sign my own copy of 15×15, he said, “Like Amber Valetta!” About which I screamed, “JUST LIKE HER.” Can you even? Comparisons made by François with me about AMBER VALETTA. My signed book lives in a VERY coveted place on my bookshelf next to my copy of Allure by Diana Vreeland and Making Faces by Kevyn Aucoin.
